Vrogum Coat System

Wood ia an amazing material with a great number of advantages. Combining the right base coat and factory paint, you receive a durable product which requires less maintenance and has a beautiful surface. Vrogum makes strict demands on the environmental aspect.

The result of constant improvements has resulted in a product which fully lives up to Vrogum's strict demands: The " Vrogum Coat System". The graphs below show the enviromental effects and the resource draw related to the energy consumption in surfacing one ton of timber - expressed in relation to the average burden for one person as a weighted average. The " Vrogum Coat System" is developed by Vrogum in close co-operation with one of Europe's leading suppliers of surface coating and has been specially customised for Vrogum.

The system is based on newly developed, however, thoroughly tested and approved techniques. It is based on a special four-stage, primer/impregnation, paint or staining of the wood - under normal and natural circumstances - to obtain a certain amount of moisture, without creating the basis for dry rot and destruction of the wood. In the spirit of Vrogum's eco-friendly profile, the system is water based to safeguard the enviroment, the employee at Vrogum, and ultimately the indoor climate at the end-user. Furthermore, painted items are given knot treatment to prevent knots showing as yellow stains.

The "Vrogum Coat System" is based on 1, 2 or 3 coatings with the option of either paint or stain colours. You can choose amoung the following treatments:
1. An initial transparent primer/impregnation, giving a very durable wood coating and providing an excellent base for subsequent treatments.
2. Option of a white base coat.
3. End treatment at your own request - with one of Vrogum standard paint or stain colours (or special RAL colours). The wide range of colours forms an exciting challenge to work out the most colourful and harmonic result.
